Sea the Jazz Blue Sky is composed of hand-painted acrylic and ink-painted collage fragments glued onto wood. Its frame also uses my hand-painted papers, linking the forms and colours in the composition as an entity. The theme is harbours: a bustle and confusion of piles of netting waiting to be repaired; sails flapping in the wind against steel masts; flood tides and ebb tides swelling the waters making the boats bob up and down. Imagine baskets of crabs, fish of all shapes and hues, and scavenging cats. A blue rain-washed sky is reflected below in a ’repetition’ lower down in the painting. / Sea the Jazz Blue Sky est composé de fragments de collage peints à la main à l’acrylique et à l’encre, collés sur bois. Son cadre intègre également mes papiers peints à la main, reliant les formes et les couleurs de la composition en une seule entité. Le thème est celui des ports : une activité et une complexité de piles de filets en attente de réparation, de voiles battant au vent contre des mâts d’acier, de marées hautes et basses agitant l’eau et faisant bouger les bateaux. Imaginez des paniers de crabes, des poissons de toute forme et de couleur et des chats en train de fouiller. Un ciel bleu balayé par la pluie se reflète dans une « répétition » plus en bas du tableau.
